Summary
In a future United States under the power of a charismatic leader, everyone gets the Mark at age thirteen. The Mark lets citizen shop, go to school, and even get medical care-but without it, you are on your own. Few refuse to get the Mark. Those who do . . . disappear.

Logan Langly went in to get his Mark, but he backed out at the last minute. Now he's on the run from government agents who will stop at nothing to capture him. But Logan is on a mission to find and save his sister, Lily, who disappeared five years ago on her thirteenth birthday, the day she was supposed to receive her Mark.

Logan and his friends, a group of dissenters called the Dust, discover a vast network of the Unmarked, who help them travel safely to the capital city where Lily is imprisoned. Along the way, the Dust receives some startling information from the Markless community, opening their eyes to the message of Christianity and warning that humanity is now entering the End of Days.

When the Dust finally arrives in the capital, it seems that all their careful planning is useless against a government that will do anything to bend its citizens to its will. Can the gentle words Logan has found in a tattered, banned Bible really stand against the most powerful military the world has ever known? Can Logan even sacrifice his own freedom, choosing to act through faith alone?

Review
This series really draws you in with plot twists. As I began to read this book, I thought that Chancellor Cylis was running some type of cult. As I continue to read, his simple cult turns out to be something much darker. He seems to want to rule the world. He did it in a sneaky way where no one really thinks that’s what he wants. However, his plans seem to involve joining Europe, a key step in global domination. He hadn’t really appeared in the first two books, but I wonder if he would make an appearance in the third book of the series.

The plot is more intense this in this book then in the last. There are more moments that want you to hope for the best for Logan and his crew and hope he escapes. You also have moments where you can’t believe that Cylis, the leader of New America, would actually do that to his people. Out on his own, Logan is traveling to where he knows his sister is being kept. He has to learn fast that there is no one out there for him to trust besides “The dust” and Peck. Nowhere is safe for long, as the DOME is catching up to Logan. The plot gets more interesting as you learn about the River, a trail of safe houses for markless to travel on. It's similar to the Underground Railroad. That’s what Logan, Hailey, Dane, Peck and The dust use when they get split up on their way to Beacon. Beacon isn’t anything like what Logan expects it to be when they go to search for the place called Archeron.

Now that Logan is on his own, he is not only on watch for people from DOME, but he is also have to learn which markless he could trust and which he shouldn’t. Trusting new people is hard for anyone, and Logan learns that right away that he shouldn’t trust new people right away. Right now all that’s on Logan’s mind is being with his sister. He wants to save her no matter what, even when all of it seems hopeless to do. Logan is more brave in this book then in the first. He is willing to do anything when it comes to saving his sister, even if it means going into the heart of a militarily compound.

As for Erin, I’m disliking her more and more for her being on her fathers side, (who works for DOME) instead of the boy who had trusted her. She even turned in Hailey to her father, so that her father would leave her alone. I just don’t like her turning in her friends just like that. Though she soon realizes whose side she should be on. It made me change my whole view on her in just a few minutes as I continued to read the story. Erin even stays with the crew at the end, and even meets a fellow hacker named Shawn. Shawn is the person that lead her to Logan and the others in the first place.

Peck is known everywhere in the markless community. You learn in the first book that he is Daniel Peck who was Lily’s (Logan’s sister) friend. He’s popular in the markless community and where ever he goes people know him and follow him. The dust are people who he has saved and they look up to him. Even I’m loving his character as the story goes. He is fit to be the leader along side Logan the two of them makes a great team.

Hailey is a girl who is Dane’s and Logan’s friend since forever. Hailey was with the dust for a long time now following what Peck’s. She leaves her home in hopes to find Logan and she does. She’s a great friend, but she's involved in an unromantic love triangle. She likes Logan, who's uninterested in her, and Dane likes Hailey, but she doesn't like Dane. It’s all messed up for her, but she has one mission and that is to help get Logan to Beacon.

Dane was a bit annoying in the book. As I mentioned before, he likes Hailey and hates the fact that Hailey likes Logan and not himself. He hates it so much that he stops being friends with Logan for it. He acts jealous and a brat towards Logan, and finally decides to leave that group to stay in a markless village. I'm glad he did it. It caused too much unnecessary jealousy because Logan told Dane countless times that he doesn’t have that kind of feelings for Hailey, but Dane doesn’t listen.

I do feel that at the very ending of the book was a bit more rushed, but as long as there is a third book I’m fine with this type of rushed ending.

Summary
Everyone gets the Mark. It gives all the benefits of citizenship. Yet if getting the Mark is such a good thing, then why does it feel so wrong?

Set in a future North America that is struggling to recover after famine and global war, Swipe follows the lives of three kids caught in the middle of a conflict they didn’t even know existed. United under a charismatic leader, every citizen of the American Union is required to get the Mark on their 13th birthday in order to gain the benefits of citizenship.

The Mark is a tattoo that must be swiped by special scanners for everything from employment to transportation to shopping. It’s almost Logan Langly’s 13th birthday and he knows he should be excited about getting the Mark, but he hasn’t been able to shake the feeling he’s being watched. Not since his sister went to get her Mark five years ago . . . and never came back.

Review

I can say that I wondered if I would like 'Swipe' because it is a middle-school type of book, but in the end that didn’t make any difference; I loved the futureistic feel of this book. I loved how you connect to the characters right away, and you know they are young by the way they act and talk. I’m really excited to read the next book to read what happens to Logan.

This book takes place in the future with very different technologies then we have. An example is a sound amplification systems that seems rather low tech. A powder is used like a microphone when teamed up with a gel that is placed in the ears. What ever that powder is around, that sound could be heard with the help of the gel from long distances. Another example are gloves called wailing gloves that make noise when you move your hands around. Another interesting thing are in the city of Spokie everyone lives in buildings. Not your normal buildings, ones where it’s one room per floor. For example: There is the ground floor, second floor is the kitchen area, third floor is the  dining area, forth floor is the washroom and so on and so forth. I find this interesting, as there is one example of a house like this in Asia, built on a very skinny lot. It's an interesting idea that this is the norm for people.

'Swipe' is a dystopian novel taking place in the future, with a whole new look on life. America is split up into three parts and our characters live New Cicago in a small town of Spokie. The plot was great, I found it very addicting and I never got tired of reading this book.  I like the idea of the thing called the Mark.  The Mark is what allows people to get jobs and to pay for things. At the age of 13, everyone must decide if they get the Mark or not. If they don't,  they have no way to make money so they are left to fend for themselves in a part of the town called Slog Row where all the Markless go. (Any readers of the 'Left Behind' series may grasp the Biblical connection, were a global leader forced people to get a similar mark or die.) Ever since Logan’s sister died after getting the Swipe, he's been paranoid about almost everything. Even though people don’t believe him, he might not be wrong with his reason to be paranoid. With the help of the new girl Erin, he learns about the mystery of the death of his sister and what DOME has to do with it. I’ve been going back and forth between sides throughout reading this book. I couldn’t pick the side I like until I learned the ending of this book and it left me so surprised.

Logan is our main male character of the story. He is only 12 years old when the story starts and he’s as paranoid of everything. Ever since his sister died, he has been going from floor to floor checking if everything is fine ever since. All those around him believe that it's all in his head, but Logan himself believes that he's right to be paranoid. I find it sad that everyone thinks he’s make believing this stuff. I like his character and I find him a bit funny seeing him try to talk to the new girl Erin. He so doesn’t realize when a girl is trying to ignore him, but he doesn’t give up and finally gets Erin’s attention, which I found cute but sad as their conversations continue.

Erin is our new girl in this book who is the same age as Logan. At first, she’s a loner only thinking about wanting her family to be back together again. Though after meeting Logan and learning about how a bad guy name Peck is after him, they work together to try and capture Peck under the DOME agency's noses. I love her character, but the way she sees the people in Slog Row is really hurtful. I guess people see them as less then human because they don’t have a Mark, but I can’t believe this girl has that type of prejudice at that age.

There are also these kids called “The Dust” they take orders from Peck. There is about five of them, who take kids when Peck says so. It's interesting to note that they're also kids who haven't been Marked yet. You don’t know until the end what their real reasons for taking Logan are, and when you learn this you will be surprised.

My First Giveaway! WEREWOLVES!! (int)

Yes I got to say it's been a while since I started my blog and I do think that I should have at least one giveaway hosted by this far.

Lets see how did my love of Werewolves start, oh yes!

It started back when Twilight first came out. (actually for me it was new moon that caught my attention and drew me to the book Twilight.) It's because of the character Jacob that I was drawn into the werewolf world. I'm a bit picky on my werewolves, I like mostly when werewolves turn into their wolf, wolf. Not the half man half beast type werewolves like in underworld movies. Well this was true until I read the "The Mayfair Moon Series" and fell in love with

I began to really love werewolf books even though there wasn't much werewolf teen books at the time. I made due though and went looking for adult books when I was 18. That's when i found the series on the left. This book made me obsessed with her novels. The way she describes the werewolves are so beautiful it feels like I'm sitting in real life watching how the wolf moves and runs, that's how good she describes the characters. Since then I've been trying to collect all of her series on werewolves, though I'm a few books behind. To read what this book about click the picture and no you don't need to read her books in order.

I'm hoping in the future they come out with more teen werewolf books. Right now i'm reading any werewolf book I can whether I find them in stores like Chapters or only ebooks from amazon.

Now lets get to the giveaway!!

Please make sure that TBD delivers to your home country before you sign into the Rafflecopter tool below. The giveaway is open internationally.

Summary
Love, obsession, and betrayal, the most powerful human emotions, are spun together in this gothic novel. Tandie Harrison is a police medium who has just suffered a divorce after losing both her psychic visions and her daughter in a car accident. When she leaves New York City to start a new life near her hometown, she moves into the alluring plantation house, Chelby Rose, and falls for its charismatic caretaker, Eric Fontalvo. Their burgeoning affair ignites a centuries old curse, ensnaring them in a web of danger, deceit, and intrigue. Soon Tandie learns that in placid Bolivia, the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected.

Hacienda Moon is a seductive tale of one woman’s journey to confront the demons of her past and find the courage to face her future. It is a mesmerizing novel that explores the deepest depths of human nature, and the characters will hold and haunt you long after you have read the final chapter.

Review
I first became aware of this author from her published book “When Copper Suns fall”. From then on I’ve became a huge supporter of this author and a huge fan. She gave me a opportunity to read her adult novel, which I thank her for. I'm not a fan of ghost novels, but I do find this book to be well written and worth the read.

The plot is great, even though I had problems with the characters. There was a main plot with the ghosts and the past lives of Tandie and Enrique, but there was also a subplot that comes into play later on in the novel. I love how the story is loosely based on the real story of a warship called the Fortuna that attacked the region now known as Brunswick County, North Carolina on September 4, 1748. The added history gave the story an interesting plot device. What I also liked as well was the fact that the two main characters are reincarnated, and even though they couldn’t be together in their past lives, they finally meet once again in present day and had a chance to start over. Tandie is the reincarnation of Alice and Eric is the reincarnation of Enrique. The ghosts were an interesting part of the story, from the three little children to Ella, the evil sister of Alice who killed Alice out of jealousy. I wasn’t so thrilled of Tandie being an author. I didn’t think it added to the story, and it only became interesting when you find out that these are characters she saw in her dreams all her life and that they were based on real people.

This book takes place in present life from the point of view of Tandie, our main character. She recently moved to a small town of Bolivia located in North Carolina.

Tandie is our main female character in this book. For someone who recently lost her daughter, she is strong. I find it sweet that she carries her daughters picture around and finds strength in that picture when ever she looks at it. However, I find her to be a little slow for being a psychic. She has an ability that lets her see ghosts and past events, but when ghost from the past appears before her she thinks it’s a real person dressed in olden style clothes. I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t think anyone in this day in age would wear some olden style clothes. Then, for no apparent reason, she suddenly believes in the ghosts she’s seeing, and recognizes them as ghosts.

Eric is our main male character of this book. He’s described as a great, attractive man who loves his job. Though I do hate how Eric acts around Tandie. He doesn’t want to get close to her  because of a curse on his family. Despite this, Tandie wants to be with Eric, not caring about the curse. Eric's point of view is shown in the book, but I found his to be a bit boring and unnecessary. I would have been happier if it was just Tanndie's point of view, because she was the center of the whole plot line, and even though, yes Eric was part of it, I just didn't see his part as interesting as Tandie's.

Then there are the side characters in this book. Abby’s a character whose personality seems to be all over the place. One minute she looks like a great girl, but then as you continue to read her personalty changes to that of a jealous girlfriend of Eric towards Tandie, but they aren't together. This is shown when Tandie first walks into the bar that she works in, and warns her to stay away from Eric. She also blames everything on Tandie, even though they only just met. She really annoys me at times, and I think she’s my least favorite character in the whole book. In my opinion a pointless character to the plot. There is a few other side characters that appear like the ghosts children. Eric's pastor also appear a few times in the book.

I find the romance at an okay pace. Given that they were lovers in another life, that bond would speed things up a little. Though with Eric avoiding Tandie for the most part, it was hard to see how they fell in love in the first place. They did consummate their love near the ending of the book, after Tandie reassured him that they’ve waited over 300 years for this.

.

Review
I really enjoyed this second book of the Matched series more then the first. This book kept me interested from beginning to end, unlike the first book, which dragged on a bit too much. I just hope the last book of the series is just as good as this book. At least i've now figured out what an Aberration is in this book , although I still don’t know what exactly an anomalies are.

There are more settings in this book then there was in the first book of the Matched Series. It takes place at first in two separate locations, because Cassia is located in the society and Ky is in the outer province’s. When the two are reunited, that meet in canyons, called carvings in the book. They spend a lot of time in the caves of the carving and in the abandon houses that people called the Famers use to live in.

The plot takes place after both Ky and Cassia leave the Oria, which is a city in the Society.  Ky knew right away when he was sent to the outer provinces and told to act like a Farmer it was all a lie. He and other aberration were sent there to die when the Rising attacked. He knew right away the only way to survive was to find a way to escape. As for Cassia, she did stayed in the society for as long as she could. However, when she figured out a way to get to Ky, she took that option, leaving with a girl named Indie. The whole story is about the journey of Cassia trying to find Ky, then trying to find the Rising soon after.

Cassia has a new way of thinking in this book then in the last book. This book she thinks what’s best for her and Ky to be together and goes against everything the Society wants of her. She only wants to be with Ky, not who the Society wants her to be with. So when she hears about the Rising she wants to join because she knows they would try to put a stop to how the Society runs things.

Ky is more open in this book. He tells Cassia the rest of his story. Well most of it. He also does what’s best for him, even when it meant feeling guilty for doing something he never thought he would do. You also learn more about his parents and their involvement with the Rising.

Both Cassia and Ky have grown more closer together in this book after finding each other again after being apart for so long. They do show their love for each other more in this book as well which was really cute. Not to mention that even when Ky thought he wouldn’t be with Cassia because of what she wanted to do, he still went to her. Even though he trusts nothing and no one, he does trust Cassia and would follow her in the end.

Summary

What happens when an all-girls' high school reigning tomboy finds out her school is about to be filled with boys!?

Hanabi Oozora is a rambunctious sixteen-year-old tomboy who comes to the rescue of her less assertive friends--sometimes in exchange for food. So what does she do when, all of a sudden, her all-girls' school is about to be integrated with an all-boys' school?!

She meets and falls in love--naturally--with one of the three most popular and handsome boys in the Student Council, Yasuaki Garaku! Unfortunately, Yasuaki doesn't care for girls... and when the girls' Student Council clashes head-on with the boys' Student Council, Hanabi steps in to become a member - hoping she'll change Yasuaki's mind!

My Thoughts on the Manga
It's been a very, very long time since I've read this manga but I have read it before. It's a very cute story of how Hanabi and Yasuaki meet and fall in love. The way its drawn i did hesatate in reading this manga but then I notice this author made another manga which I love called Gaba Kawa. Which I'm planning to read soon to do a review on because that story was so sad at the end.

Hanabi is a really strong character totally different from how she use to be when she was younger. After spending most of her life in an all girls school they now had to join an all boys school making it co-ed. All the girls rely on her to make things far for both girls and guys so she then got onto the student council.

Yasuaki has always seen girls as baby chicks, he hates girls and that is one of the reasons he went to an all boys school. Then he met Hanabi and everything changed, he started to fall for Hanabi, though he still fears girls he doesn't fear Hanabi all that much.

The romance is cute and slow at the same time because of Yasuaki fear of girls it had to be slow. They do go through some trails like Hanabi's old neighbor and the meeting of Hanabi's father they still stayed together.

Design

Like I mention before I did hesitate at first on reading this book but then I released who the author was and decided to read it. I found that after a while I got use to the way it was drawn while I was pulled into the story. It's a different type of style and is unique in it's own way. Not to mention it does also look like an old style type of drawing mix with new style.

Hana started going out with Tokumoto-kun, who's popular with both the class and the girls. She's being played around with by the guy's pace. Hana falls in love more and more with his kindness and his sense of humor. But, then she finds out about his ex-girlfriend, who is a teacher…!

Also includes two other stories:

Cm na Futari
This is a love story between childhood friends.
They’ve always been together so it’s hard to go from childhood friends to lovers, right? Michika thinks that people who try to trick her are bastards, but Yuki saved her. She thought he was so cool that she fell in love.

My Life My Melody
Aoi met Kei, the street guitarist after running away from home one day. Aoi’s life is not at all perfect as her family kept ignoring and not realizing her existence. Can Kei help Aoi to go through with her life?

My Thoughts on the Manga
This story made me laugh and cry and I really enjoyed every moment of it. Even the two side chapters were great in their own way.
I do wish for it to be longer but I'm fine with it being short because it just so good. If your looking for a great one shot story of romance that will make you laugh and cry at the same time this is for you.

Hana really is a great girl but to fall for someone who still has feelings for another person must be really tough for her. She's sweet but I can see how painful it was for her to be with Rintarou when she found out his feelings for their Sensei (teacher). Though she wanted what was best for Rintarou even if she was hurt in the end.

Though he has feelings for Sensei, when he met Hana everything changed. She ran into him when he was crying and started to cry herself because she saw how sad he was. He slowly began to change his feelings bu couldn't figure it out till the end when Hana pushed him to go to Sensei. He's a great guy and I'm glad everything turned out fine in the end.

The romance was slow because they had to figure out how to be togehter when it seemed Rintarou still had feelings for their sensei. In the end he proved to her that his feelings for Hana was strong and he wanted to be with her not sensei.

Design

Very cute drawing style I've read a few of this authors manga's and all of them have pretty much the same style. It's both cute and interesting with the way she draws. You can see a lot of emotion in the characters expressions that they show and a lot of work goes into the background and detail in the face and body. I really do love this authors works.
