Summary
Shadow Falls Camp is back in session with the most explosive installment yet.  A shocking new threat will rock Shadow Falls—changing it forever and altering Kylie’s journey in ways she never imagined.

Even at a camp for supernatural teens, Kylie Galen has never been normal. Not only can she see ghosts, but she doesn’t seem to belong to any one species—she exhibits traits from them all. As Kylie struggles to unlock the secrets of her identity, she begins to worry that Lucas will never be able to accept her for what she is, and what she isn’t…a werewolf.  With his pack standing in their way, Kylie finds herself turning more and more to Derek, the only person in her life who’s willing to accept the impossible.

As if life isn’t hard enough, she starts getting visits from the ghost of Holiday, her closest confidante.  Trouble is, Holiday isn’t dead…not yet anyway.  Now Kylie must race to save one of her own from an unseen danger before it’s too late—all while trying to stop her relationship with Lucas from slipping away forever.   In a world of constant confusion, there’s only one thing Kylie knows for sure.  Change is inevitable and all things must come to an end…maybe even her time at Shadow Falls.

The breathtaking fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling Shadow Falls series from author C. C. Hunter...Whispers at Moonrise.

Review
It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited to read a book. This forth book of the series was just so good. The storyline for this book was just to great. Every moment of this book was exciting. There was quite a few times it brought me to tears because of the sad scenes that happen in it, doesn’t help that I was reading this book on the subway with tears in my eyes.
Whispers at Moonrise takes place at the camp where Kylie spent most of the summer at. The camps name is Shadow Falls Camp. In this book you see it being turned into a school which Kylie does attend for a while.

Kylie is now struggling with what her ghost father just told her in book three of the shadow falls series.  She now begins to think she’s a lizard, since the name of the supernatural she is, is a Chameleon, she automatically starts to think she’s a lizard because of that name. Even though she knows she’s not really a lizard she still starts to freak out. With that going on Kylie also meets another new ghost. This ghost is different from the others though when she finds out it’s someone who she recognizes and she knows right away that its not good. Speaking to ghosts still make people in Shadow falls camp afraid. It’s unnatural to talk to ghosts according to them she’s weird and yet they are the ones who are vampires, werewolves, etc. With all this going her feelings for Lucas her boyfriend isn’t going well. He’s keeping things from her but she’s no better with keeping facts about the ghosts she’s seeing from him. She can only rely on Holiday because she too can see and speak to ghosts. Only problem with this ghost is that she can’t tell Holiday about it and she can only rely on Derek mostly on this ghost. Kylie is also changing from one Supernatural to the next and it’s just making her more like a freak because she just wishes she can be one supernatural not a whole range that change whenever her brain feels like it. When all of this is going on new teachers appear at Shadow Falls for the school year. She knows that one of the teachers don’t seem quite right and suspects he’s up to something. Maybe even something to do with the new ghost she is seeing that reminds her of someone at camp. She needs to find the person who is going to kill again before it’s to late.

Kylie our main character, hasn’t changed to much from the first three books. She’s still afraid of not know what she really is. She wants to know if she’s a witch, vampire, etc but now that she knows it just makes her more afraid of the dangers she will face and her losing relationship with Lucas. She loves him a lot and even though she has struggled with who she loves in the past three books in this book she knows she has strong feelings for Lucas but doesn’t know how to trust him when he doesn’t open up to her or that he can’t deal with the fact that she can talk to ghosts. She does her best, she doesn’t give up even when she feels hurt she tries to understand it from the others person point of view .

Della is still the head strong vampire from the first book to now. She is protective and looks after Kylie. She also is the same when interacting with Miranda, they always fight and threaten each other but never act on it. They really are friends even if they fight a lot. Della does feel left out when Miranda and Tara have boyfriends but she doesn’t but then she doesn’t try to show her feelings to anyone. It changes a little bit when she realizes a guy does like her.

Miranda still has problems with her magic, for being a witch it's a bit problematic. It’s been that way since the first few books but at least now she can deal with that fact. She doesn't feel as upset and tries her best to do spells and to even fix them. She is now with Perry the shape shifter and she is happy to be with him. She is a good friend to both Tara and Della and she will listen to anything they have to say and they will listen to her.

Holiday is the head person at Shadow Falls camp and soon the be school. She is a Fea and can speak to ghosts as well, that’s why her and Kylie have such a strong connection. She has always felt since the beginning that Kylie and her were friends even more like family. While Holiday helps Kylie figure things out, Kylie also helps Holiday with her feelings for a curtain Vampire.

Derek is our half human half Fea who is a really great person, it makes me sad to see that he does love Kylie and she knows that he loves her but she can’t be with him. Even so he still comes to her when her feelings are all over the place cause he can feel them strongly because of his Fea powers. He is willing to stay by Kylie’s side and just be her friend that’s enough for him. He doesn’t care that she is with Lucas as long as she is happy.

I do like Lucas because he’s a werewolf but he’s not treating Kylie fairly. In the first three books you learn that they have a past together and that Lucas always wished she was a werewolf, but even without that part he still cares about her but now he’s taking their dwindling trust and stretching it to far.  He says he can’t tell her because it will make her more upset so he keeps things from her. Lying is never good in the relationship and even though he tells Kylie he loves her. It doesn’t help when he puts his pack before her. He can’t stand up to her, he can’t sit with her during meals he has to leave her alone. He knows he is hurting her but he’s asking her to hold out a bit longer so that he can get onto the wolf council. Though seriously if you can’t see how much your hurting your girlfriend you have no right to be her boyfriend.
